Teacher.
Retreat Leader.
Community Builder.
To inspire others to show up powerfully in their lives.
Marina Mukandala grew up in Buffalo, New York, and found yoga as a young woman looking for something she couldn’t name yet. That search became a practice, the practice became a calling, and the calling became a career that has now spanned over 17 years.
In 2012, she opened Mind Body Flow Yoga in East Amherst, New York. Over the next eight and a half years, she built something most instructors never do: a community, not just a class list. She trained a teaching team of 13 instructors, trained 20+ yoga teachers through her 200-hour teacher training program, and taught more than 27,000 students. She produced Power Yoga Ignite, a digital video series, and was named a lululemon Legacy Ambassador.
In 2020, Marina’s beloved studio closed its doors as a casualty of the pandemic, and in 2021 she and her family relocated to Tennessee. She didn’t just move. She rebuilt. New community. New offerings. Same heart for teaching, and the same gift for making every person in the space feel seen. She still keeps close to her community in New York and loves every opportunity to reconnect and be in their presence.
Today, Marina leads private yoga sessions, weekly virtual yoga classes, private coaching, and immersive multi-day retreats in Tennessee. That ability to build community from scratch, to start over, and to cherish every relationship, new or mature, is what makes her different. She’s not teaching from theory. She’s teaching from the middle of a life she’s actively building.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe every person has innate gifts to share, and that joy, peace, and happiness are not things you earn. They are already yours.
Yoga is a tool that helps you remember that. Not yoga as performance, not yoga as fitness, but yoga as a practice of listening to your body, quieting the noise, and reconnecting with who you actually are.
Whether it’s a private yoga session, a 60-minute virtual class, a weekend retreat, or a one-on-one coaching conversation, my approach is the same: meet you where you are, create a space where honesty feels safe, and help you build something sustainable. Not a quick fix. A real shift.

What It’s Like to Learn from Marina
Marina pours her heart and soul into every class she teaches. The energy is contagious. The message is clear — let go and trust. That’s yoga.
It’s the only yoga studio I’ve ever attended where the instructor takes the time to learn your name. Marina exudes warmth and friendliness.
After going on an amazing yoga retreat with Marina, I decided to dive a little deeper and work with her on a one-on-one, extensive coaching experience. It was so helpful and gave me the tools I needed to get unstuck in areas of my life that I desperately needed to grow and find a new path of operating.
I feel so much lighter… I came in carrying so much weight and I’m leaving with tools I can actually use in my daily life.
The growth I have had while in Marina’s classes is incredible! Things that I never thought I could do — that I now am doing or working towards doing — is so amazing!
Empowering. Rejuvenating. Life-affirming. Essential. It helped me to reach inside and recover some strength and serenity that I needed very much.
This wasn’t just yoga — it was a full reset. I reconnected with parts of myself I didn’t even realize I’d lost.
She was there for me when I needed her most… she has given me the tools and skills that I have needed to have a different perspective and see things in a new light.
